ICYMI: The Provincial Government of Albay (PGA), led by Governor, Hon. Atty. Edcel “Grex” B. Lagman, recently expressed its appreciation to Camalig Local Chief Executive Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo, Jr. for his significant contribution in elevating the province’s ranking in the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) for the year 2023.

The CMCI is an annual ranking system that assesses the competitiveness of local government units (LGUs) at the provincial, city, and municipal levels based on key metrics like economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation.

Camalig’s proactive approach in governmental processes, including efficient public service and local economic development, played a pivotal role in securing the province’s leap from 15th to 11th rank in the national CMCI.

As per Mayor Caloy, LGU-Camalig still pushes for a more enhanced and data-driven governance, through the local government’s active partnership with the PGA and other agencies, with the end goal of fostering a transformative, inclusive, resilient, and development-centric Camalig.
