In line with LGU-Camalig’s advocacy to promote livelihood, micro-enterprise, and product development, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), formally launched the Tindahan ng Pagbabago on Wednesday to support Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

The activity, held in front of the Municipal Tourism and Cultural Heritage Office (MTCHO), was supported by Camalig Mayor Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr., Municipal Tourism Officer Jed Villanueva, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer (LEDIPO) Karen Bolaños, and DTI Business Counselor Angelica Lozada.

Bearing the theme “Tugang ko, Tabang na, Bakal na,” the Tindahan ng Pagbabago offers “Parols” handcrafted by PDLs, providing a meaningful opportunity for them to showcase their skills and contribute to the festive spirit of Christmas while earning a livelihood.

In his message, Mayor Caloy emphasized the importance of second chances and unhampered skill and livelihood productivity, saying, “May pagkakataon talaga kita na mapakaray ang saton na bway. Importante yadi para matawan sinda opportunity kina income maski nasa jail. Diskarte ang pinakamahalaga.”
