LGU-Camalig has scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in the recent audit conducted by the Department of the Interior & Local Government (DILG) Regional Office V, bringing the local government closer to receiving the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
 
The audit, which is part of the rigorous process to earn the SGLG, involved a thorough validation of various documents and modes of verification (MOVs) prepared by the heads and functionaries of LGU-Camalig. Said documents were gathered to comply with the expanded SGLG indicators.
 
The governance criteria for the SGLG audit encompass 10 areas including, Financial Administration and Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sensitivity, Health Compliance and Responsiveness, Sustainable Education, Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety, Peace and Order, Environmental Management, Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts, and Youth Development. According to the DILG’s “all-in” principle, LGUs must pass all these indicators to attain the SGLG.
 
The audit concluded with LGU-Camalig garnering a perfect score, reflecting its comprehensive and diligent efforts across all governance areas. The deserved result was attained due to the collective efforts of all LGU-Camalig offices.
 
The SGLG is a coveted recognition awarded by the DILG to LGUs that demonstrate exemplary governance practices.
 
According to Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. CarlosCaloy” Irwin G. Baldo, Jr., achieving the seal is an important milestone for LGU-Camalig, as it not only brings recognition and prestige but also opens doors to additional support from the national government. “Beneficial po yadi bukon sana sa lokal na gobyerno, kundi lalo na sa saton na mga habitantes, para mas lalo ta mapamaray ang kalidad ning bway san kada residente sa Camalig”, the Mayor said.
 
With its recent outstanding performance, LGU-Camalig is on the verge of securing the SGLG award, underscoring their dedication to good governance and public service.
