Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Meredith Basquiñas announced on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) will be leading the conduct of road-clearing operations on public roads, streets, and alleys within the barangay.

 

Camalig Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr. urged for the removal of unauthorized obstructions, considering that this would help to clear the pathways, ensure road accessibility, and stimulate further economic development in the town.

 

Pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2024-053, relative to the nationwide implementation of Barangay Road Clearing Operations (BaRCO), LGU-Camalig has chosen Brgy. Tinago as the showcase barangay to undergo assessment on May 10, 2024, from 4 p.m. onwards. Hence, other barangays are also encouraged to simultaneously conduct the same operation in their jurisdiction.

 

In line with this, the Punong Barangays (PBs) are expected to conduct regular consultations with their constituents particularly those who will be affected by the strengthened conduct road-clearing operations and other related activities.
