FYI: Tips to stay safe in hot weather
 
1. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
 
2. Never leave people or pets in parked cars. The temperature inside can double within minutes
 
3. Wear loose, breathable clothing and footwear
 
4. Eat light meals like vegetables and fruits to keep you hydrated and cool
 
5. Try to avoid alcohol, tea and coffee as these can cause dehydration
 
6. Try to stay out of the sun, particularly when it is at its highest between 10:00AM and 4:00PM
 
7. Keep indoor plants and bowls of water in the house as evaporation helps keep cool the air
 
8. Make sure electric fans and/or air-conditioners are clean to maximize efficiency
