The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) led the turnover of 23 heads of hybrid goats to members of the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) in Brgy. Taplacon, Camalig, Albay.

Said initiative is in line with the “Goat Dispersal Program” of Mayor Carlos “Caloy” Irwin G. Baldo Jr., which seeks to provide a sustainable source of income to local communities, considering that goat farming is low-cost and can be carried out on marginal lands.

This further aligns with the Livelihood Program of LGU-Camalig which intends to expand available livelihood assets, mainly to improve food and nutritional security, and to alleviate poverty by investing to livestock commodities.

Moreover, Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Dante Alejandro shared to the recipients the guide to healthy goat-raising and breeding, and further delivered crucial practices necessary to maintain sanitation and hygiene.
